Previously, she served as the assistant principal at Caraway Intermediate School since 2009. Mrs. Willis received her bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 1994 and her master’s degree in educational administration from Sam Houston State University in 2008. She is certified as a principal. In 1995, she taught sixth-grade social studies at Miller Intermediate School in Pasadena ISD. She joined Aldine ISD in 1997 and was assigned to teach sixth-grade social studies at Wilson Intermediate School. She also served as the social studies department chair. In 2002, she transferred to Hill Intermediate as the entrepreneur & economics coordinator and social studies department chair then became the magnet coordinator in 2005. Mrs. Willis has 23 years of experience in the field of education and she has spent 21 of those years with Aldine ISD.

I joined the Aldine ISD team in 2004 as a Paraprofessional at Francis Elementary. My desire to educate scholars was always a passion deeply rooted inside. I graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-4 in 2006. I taught PK at deSantiago EC/PK Center for two years. During my time as a PK teacher I was named the RITE Teacher of the Year in 2008. I continued my longing to teach, by securing a position as a Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) teacher, where I taught students with special needs. During my years at deSantiago, I spent my time studying to be a School Counselor. I received my Master’s Degree from Texas Southern University in School Counseling in 2012. I transitioned to Magrill Elementary where I served as the School Counselor for five years. Meanwhile, I continued to strive higher in the field of education and pursued another Master’s Degree. July 2018, I was privileged to join Garcia-Leza EC/PK/K School as an Assistant Principal. I look forward to building a STRONG foundation with our scholars. In August 2018 I obtained my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University.

Me uní al equipo de Aldine ISD en 2004 como paraprofesional en Francis Elementary. Mi deseo de educar a los académicos siempre fue una pasión profundamente arraigada en mi interior. Me gradué de la Universidad del Sur de Texas con una Licenciatura en Estudios Interdisciplinarios EC-4 en 2006. Enseñé PK en el Centro EC/PK deSantiago durante dos años. Durante mi tiempo como maestro de PK fui nombrado Maestro del Año de RITE en 2008. Continué con mi deseo de enseñar, al asegurarme un puesto como maestro de Aula de Aprendizaje Estructurado (SLC), donde enseñé a estudiantes con necesidades especiales. Durante mis años en deSantiago, pasé el tiempo estudiando para ser consejera escolar. Recibí mi Maestría de la Universidad del Sur de Texas en Orientación Escolar en 2012. Pasé a la Primaria Magrill, donde trabajé como Consejera Escolar durante cinco años. Mientras tanto, seguí esforzándome más en el campo de la educación y busqué otro título de maestría. En julio de 2018, tuve el privilegio de unirme a la escuela García-Leza EC/PK/K como subdirectora. Espero construir una base FUERTE con nuestros académicos. En agosto de 2018 obtuve mi Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo de la Sam Houston State University.
