Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open.

Leza Library Events:

Reading our Way through PreK

Reading our Way through Pre-K is the year long reading incentive (November through April)initiated to encourage reading at home. Read with your child each night to build strong literacy skills and happy readers!

-Read with your child each night.

-Choose one book each week to complete the form. Be sure to include all of the information needed on the form. Talk with your child about the book and each question. Have our child draw the illustration.

-Return the completed form the first week of the following month.

*Each week the monthly form must be complete to qualify*

Students with all completed forms, November through April, will be awarded a medal at graduation!

 Due Dates:

November form due by December4th.

December form due by January8th.

January form due by February5th.

February form due by March4th.

March form due by April8th.

April form due by May6th.

*Keep sticky fingers away from books!

*Turn pages carefully.

*Use books marks to hold their spot in a book.

*Keep food, drinks, crayons, and all other damaging materials away from library books!

*Share books with little siblings by reading to them, not letting them chew on the books!

*Keep books stored in the library book bag when no treading.

*Return books the day before your class library visit each week. 

*Take care of books so everyone can enjoy the library!

*Stay safe by walking and following all school procedures in the library.

*Treat other people and materials with respect in the library!

*No food or drinks in the library.

Leza Library Circulation Policy

o Students, staff, and parents of students may check materials out from the library.

o Students must have a signed permission form on file before they may borrow from the library.

o Any patron checking materials out from the library will be given an identification number on a library card.

o All patrons are responsible for damaged or lost library materials.

o Staff members may check out an unlimited number of items.

o Parents may check out up to five books at a time.

o Students may check out one book at a time.

o Students and parents may check books out for one week.

o Staff may check out items for the school year, but are responsible for damaged or lost items.

o Books, audio books, reference materials, and teacher materials are available for staff checkout from the library.

o An overdue item will not be fined if returned.

o Lost items will be fined the amount of the item. If a book has been paid for but later returned in the same school year, the amount of the fine paid will be reimbursed.
