Sarah Sutter, Assistant Principal

I am Sarah Sutter, one of the assistant principals at Garcia-Leza EC/PK/K School.  I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.  I started my career at Dunn Elementary as a Kindergarten teacher.  Five years later, I accepted a position as Technology Specialist at A.W. Jones EC/PK/K. I worked there for five years, four as the Technology Specialist and one as the Response to Intervention Teacher and Skills Specialist.  In 2009 I obtained a Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership in from Sam Houston State University. After three years in Houston ISD as a Teacher Development Specialist, I returned to Aldine where I served for two years as Assistant Principal at Keeble EC/PK.  This is currently my first year as an Assistant Principal at Garcia-Leza EC/PK/K.  I enjoy educating students in the lower grade levels because I love igniting the passion for them to become lifelong learners as well as seeing the tremendous amount of growth throughout the school year.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time at the lake with her husband, one year old daughter, and black lab puppy.

Courtney Patterson, Assistant Principal

I joined the Aldine ISD team in 2004 as a Paraprofessional at Francis Elementary. My desire to educate scholars was always a passion deeply rooted inside.  I graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-4 in 2006. I taught PK at deSantiago EC/PK Center for two years. During my time as a PK teacher I was named the RITE Teacher of the Year in 2008.  I continued my longing to teach, by securing a position as a Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) teacher, where I taught students with special needs.  During my years at deSantiago, I spent my time studying to be a School Counselor. I received my Master’s Degree from Texas Southern University in School Counseling in 2012. I transitioned to Magrill Elementary where I served as the School Counselor for five years. Meanwhile, I continued to strive higher in the field of education and pursued another Master’s Degree.  July 2018, I was privileged to join Garcia-Leza EC/PK/K School as an Assistant Principal. I look forward to building a STRONG foundation with our scholars. In August 2018 I obtained my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University.
